Diamond Polishing Pads for Granite & Natural Stone | Basic Diamond

Most shops run a 7-step grit sequence when polishing granite - 50 through 3000, then a buff finish. The pads you use at each step matter more than most people realize. Too aggressive on a lower grit and you're chasing scratches upward. Too light on the early steps and you never really get them out.

Basic Diamond's wet polishing pads for granite, marble, quartzite, porcelain, and engineered stone are built for production volume. We stock 4", 5", and 6" diamond polishing pads in grit ranges from 50 to 10,000 - including ceramic-body systems for longer pad life on harder materials. Running a Samurai wet polisher? These pads are sized and spec'd to match. Need dry pads instead? We stock those too. All ship same or next business day.

Frequently Asked Questions

+

Can I use wet polishing pads on a standard angle grinder?

Wet pads require a water feed - either a wet polisher like the Samurai ST-235 or a grinder with a water attachment. Running wet pads dry will burn the pad and damage the stone face. If you need to dry-polish, use our dry pad line instead.

+

How long do diamond polishing pads last?

On standard granite with proper water cooling, most pads last 500-1,500 linear feet depending on grit. Ceramic-body pads run significantly longer than resin pads on hard stone like quartzite.

+

What is the difference between resin bond and ceramic bond pads?

Resin bond pads are softer and work well on mid-range granite and marble - good general-use pads. Ceramic bond pads are harder, more aggressive, and last longer on quartzite, porcelain, and other hard materials. If you're cutting through a lot of quartzite, ceramic is worth the upfront cost.
