Diamond Polishing Pads for Granite & Stone | Basic Diamond

Polishing stone by hand or machine both start in the same place - the right pad. Basic Diamond stocks wet polishing pads and dry polishing pads for granite, marble, quartzite, porcelain, and engineered stone. Whether you're running a Samurai polisher through a 7-step grit sequence or dry-polishing a sink cutout detail, these pads are built for production shop use.

We carry diamond polishing pad systems from Pinnacle, Renegade, and Basic Diamond's own line. Choose by size (4", 5", 6"), grit level (50 to 10,000), material type, and wet or dry use. Need specialty pads for specific applications? We stock those too. All ship same or next business day.

Frequently Asked Questions

+

What grit sequence should I use for polishing granite?

A standard sequence for granite runs 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, and 3000 grit, finishing with a buff pad. Some fabricators skip grits depending on the stone. The Pinnacle and Renegade systems are pre-sequenced to simplify this.

+

What is the difference between wet and dry polishing pads?

Wet pads use water as a coolant during polishing - they run cooler and typically last longer. Dry pads are used with a variable-speed grinder without water, useful when working on installed countertops or in areas where water is a problem.

+

Do these pads work on engineered stone like Silestone or Cambria?

Yes, but engineered stone has different hardness characteristics than natural granite. We carry pads specifically rated for engineered stone - look for the Engineered Stone Pads in the collection for those applications.

What size backing pad do I need?

The polishing pad size needs to match your backer pad. Most Samurai polishers use 4" or 5" pads. Check your polisher's spindle size - we stock backer pads in multiple sizes to match.
