A standard sequence for granite runs 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1500, and 3000 grit, finishing with a buff pad. Some fabricators skip grits depending on the stone. The Pinnacle and Renegade systems are pre-sequenced to simplify this.

What is the difference between wet and dry polishing pads?

Wet pads use water as a coolant during polishing - they run cooler and typically last longer. Dry pads are used with a variable-speed grinder without water, useful when working on installed countertops or in areas where water is a problem.

Do these pads work on engineered stone like Silestone or Cambria?

Yes, but engineered stone has different hardness characteristics than natural granite. We carry pads specifically rated for engineered stone - look for the Engineered Stone Pads in the collection for those applications.

What size backing pad do I need?
